UNICEF Sierra Leone has been exploring the linkages between education and peace building through targeted actions such as the Child Friendly Schools action research programme. The Child Friendly Schools initiative is a multi-dimensional concept of quality that addresses the total needs of the child as a learner.
UNICEF Sierra Leone commissioned InsightShare to carry out a Participatory Video evaluation as a component of their end of programme evaluation. We supported a local team to use participatory video combined with the most significant change technique with groups of children and other programme stakeholders in Pujehun district in Southern Sierra Leone.
This report describes the background, the process and the findings of the evaluation. It also provides an overview of the key learning and recommendations for ongoing support in the selected communities as well as for similar future peace building initiatives.
