This article describes the PV project that was carried out in Inanda, Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa, in the summer of 2007. It summarizes how InsightShare's capacity building PV training - in cooperation with the Valley Trust - provided different social groups of the Inanda Township community with a tool to express their perpectives on problems in their community - ranging from water and food scarcity to HIV/AIDS and unemployment - and to show their inspiring ways of coping with these issues.
This film was produced using participatory video techniques during the Nike sponsored 'Gender Equity in Sport for Social Change' conference which took place in Casablanca in May 2007.
As part of the Gender Equity in Sport for Social Change conference Nike invited InsightShare to carry out training in Participatory Video and expose grassroots partners to the great potential of this tool. Here we have a part of the final film created, focussing on the inspiring womens 10K "Course Femenine" that took place during the conference in the streets of Casablanca.
