Marleen specialises in participatory methods with particular expertise and experience in training facilitators and using participatory video for reconciliation, knowledge/skills dissemination, advocacy and MEL. Over the past 10 years Marleen has worked with a wide variety of groups ranging from indigenous communities in Uganda and Sierra Leone, farmers in the Himalayas, homeless people in the UK and young MILF combatants in the Philippines. She has a MSc in sustainable development from the Centre for Alternative Technology and a BA in Cultural Anthropology and Development Sociology from Leiden University. As Head of Operations she is responsible for managing our core operations (including designing and overseeing internal systems and disseminating methodological learning within our team). She has delivered over 25 participatory video projects and training courses in 10 different countries in Europe, Africa and Asia and greatly enjoys developing new projects and training courses with clients and partners.
