Beth is a social anthropologist specialising in the use of participatory research methods. She has worked with participatory video since 2008. Her PhD research explored the use of participatory video as a method for collaborative research with pastoralists in the Rift Valley of Ethiopia. Beth's subsequent work has focused on participatory approaches to natural resource management and sustainable agricultural development. Beth has lived and worked in Ethiopia periodically from 2005 to 2014. She has undertaken research in East Africa, West Africa and Asia.
